i gotta be honest with you all ... i think this is a bad idea. i can't really give a reason why i think this is a bad idea at the moment, but i just have a "feeling" if you will. who knows though.

Well, you could argue that it might be harder to sell gear if people can upgrade the old and make it last a bit longer.. or you could argue that whatever method for upgrading armor they implement might be a pain in the ass to do, or manipulated by some means so that assholes can get rich off of it (kinda like the people that pretty much control nm spawns).. Oh, I'm sure the system won't be perfect and probably will cause problems somewhere for some reason, but it's a nice concept. We'll just have to wait and see how it goes..

Sounds a lot like WOW to me. Not sure how I feel about it right now. A lot of it will depend on what method they choose to make the upgrades available.

well, i read the blurb about it and i guess you won't be able to trade, bazaar or AH any of the gear you augment, which could mean that normal gear will soon become a hard-to-find commodity. one question that is on my mind is: are the augments permanent?

i'm wondering if they will make it so the two augments you add will be able to be removed and switched out for two different ones or just removed altogether so the piece can then be sold at it's regular N.Q. price.

the website states that they are going to try and make the augments easy to obtain so that everyone may enjoy them, or something like that, so we'll see if it's going to be some insane quest or BCNM drops or MMM drops or if they are items that can be hoarded by upper echelon players and then sold to the masses at exorbitant prices.

time will tell, i suppose. i guess i'll just have to have a little bit of faith and wait and see, though my feeling of unease still won't abate.

I'm not too keen on this either, Allthough I see the ability to augment +chr into slots that I wont get for a while on Bst quite appealing.

what looks damn ugly? that gear? that's just a regular gambison that they've augmented ... they're just using it as an example. silly beastie.

its sounds intresting but i'll have to wait and see, i hope its easy to get them or i aint gonna be excited at all, i have lots of gear i'd love to "spice" up ^^

It would be nice for jobs like RDM to not have to have a set of melee gear and a set of mage gear. Being able to add DEX and STR to gear with INT/MND or MP would be great, but I have that same fear. The upgrades are either gonna be ridiculously expensive or impossible to get. Anyway I guess we will all see when it happens.

I think rather than add augments that need to adjust existing gear. Blm Af doesnt compare in some ways to the new jobs Af. (imo) This might work in some ways but we'll see. Would be nice to make Seer's +1 stuff even better!! lol
