Hey guys, just thought I'd check in and see how everyone is doing. I'm ok, but the phone company or whoever decided to take our ISDN modem on Thursday the 20th, so I can connect to the net using my pc (using my mum's laptop atm) they said that they would send in a replacement modem (a better one) in 2 or more days.

So, I can't log in to play for a while it seems until this new modem arrives. Hope everyone is well and I'll see you all soon I hope. Miss you all.

lol, well after installing the wings of the goddess expansion and heading towards a maw the power to the entire street goes out, and when we get our power back it turns out the motherboard in our pc died.

got a new pc but i cant open POL, perhaps cause this one uses windows vista and my old one used windows XP. So I will be away from the game again until i can sort this out.

There ya go Vyp. That link takes you to a page that'll give you the thing you need in order to play the game on Vista. Oughta work after you install whatever you need from that page. Worked on my brother's laptop anyways.

thanks for the info shu, i was able to download the vista version of POL but still unable to play the game, i installed them onto my pc but when i try to go into FFXI from POL it says it isnt installed.

and my password/s arent working when i try to register ID's etc. so i can pretty much only log into POL but thats about it.

i hate to say it, but you may have to uninstall everything and then do a reinstall. that will suck majorly, but hopefully it will only uninstall the basics and you won't have to download all the updates again. not sure what the process is for that as i play on xbox360, but i hope things get sorted out soon, vyp. sucks that yer not on. you're a major part of CE and it doesn't feel like home without you.

yeah, ive uninstalled POL and FFXI and tried to put it back on but ive only been able to access POL (i downloaded the vista friendly version from the POL site) when i try to start playing FFXI it says it isnt installed.

Plus i can't use my password to access my membership info, for the time being my dad took the old pc tower thingy to work to show some pc guys there to see if the mother board could be fixed or something similar and my friend will take our new pc and see if he can uninstall windows vista and re-install windows XP, atm he is busy and will call me when he has some free time, so I'm still unable to play FFXI for the time being.

May be back within the next few days I hope, gonna give my PC to one of dads friends tomorrow (sunday where I live) and he will uninstall vista and install windows XP.

so I hope this works, but I dont really want to get my hopes up.

I've played around with vista a few times and it definately isnt that spectacular...i would go with xp any day...much better operating system....hope to see you soon vyper...
