Promy runs

I need to do all three still.

I only have bst or whm to go as really. I'd prefer bst as I only use whm to go raise folk. I've been inside Dem before solo just to have a look around and I was able to take down a few creepy looking things,

I'd love to get these done if there is room for me to join,

We would be able to do one Friday during the day, Saturday night or anytime Sunday before 2 PST. It would be nice to get one done so if those times work for everyone else that would be great.

Yea. Unless it changes I'm off all day friday so any time friday, saturday or sunday would be good. Im prolly gonna farm for some anima tonight. Imma try to get some cap gear but again. if you could lemme me ahead of time what job I need gear for I'd appreciate it.

K. Got my anima so Im good to go when I get gear. I have Decent gear for war,pld,whm,blm,smn,thf also gonna try and borrow my friends cnt. set so I'll pretty much have decent gear for all my jobs.

Which Anima are needed?

Hystereoanima, Psycoanima, and what the is 3rd I can't remember.

These are the three different Anima and their effects on the Promy bosses:

Psychoanima ~causes the boss to be 100% intimidated by players for ~30 seconds, stopping all normal attacks (prevents 7-8 attacks).
Hysteroanima causes the boss's special attacks to fail for ~20 seconds. They are still readied, but do not execute. This is especially useful in the last 20% of the boss' HP, when they start to spam their TP attacks.
Terroanima causes the boss to run away from the player with hate for ~30 seconds.
The effects of anima stack, so you can use Psychoanima and Hysteroanima in pairs to stop all attacks. This also helps you to time the Hysteroanima.

Holla by far is considered a pain because the mob sleeps and curses party members. It is wise for EVERYONE to bring poison potions (to prevent sleep )and holy water(to remove curse) Everyone should bring Au lait to conteract the hp drain of the potions and to make the whm jobs slightly easier.. Mages should bring refresh drinks. RNG is VERY important for ALL the promy's. They are the ones who lead us to the memory receptacles that will take us to the next lvl.


Info I have found about the different bosses:

Promyvion - Holla
The boss is the Wreaker (Thinker type).
TP attacks are:
Trinary Tap: Drains 1-3 status effects (including Food, Reraise and Utsusemi) or 200 HP from the target.
Trinary Absorption: Drains HP from the target.
Shadow Spread: AoE Curse and Sleep.
Stygian Vapor: AoE Plague + hate reset?
Negative Whirl: AoE Ice? damage.
Winds of Promyvion: Erases one negative effect on the NM.
Empty Cutter: Single target physical damage.

FFxiclopedia.org suggests that :

Other than this, the tank should not have any positive buffs. However, be sure to give the tank a useless buff like Barstonra for the boss to absorb instead of the tank's HP. If you have a Bard in your party, they can give the tank songs that won't cause too much trouble when absorbed, like Ballad.

Personally I've never used a bard in here but have wanted to try it. With the 1-3 effect drain off the tank a bard would be helpful in letting him drain something useless on the tank.


Promyvion - Dem
The boss is the Progenerator (Gorger type).
TP attacks are:
Fission: Spawns an Offspring.
Vanity Drive: Directional AoE damage.
Spirit Absorption: Drains 200 HP from the target, ignores Utsusemi.
Promyvion Barrier: Defense boost (for Offspring?).
Stygian Flatus: AoE Paralyze.
Quadratic Continuum: Single target damage.

At 50% HP he will start popping kids but he can pop them also if he has still 90-95% HP left. The Offsprings are smaller than normal Gorgers and are weak. The Progenerator is immune to Sleep and Bind, the Offspring are not. The maximum number of Offspring in play is 6. Offspring will continue to be generated if some are killed off.


Promyvion - Mea
The boss is the Delver (Craver type).
TP attacks are:
Carousel: AoE physical damage and knockback. Absorbed by Utsusemi.
Promyvion Brume: AoE damage + Poison
Murk: AoE Slow + Gravity.
Impalement: Drops the target to 5% HP and resets hate on them, like Throat Stab. Can avoid by running away.
Empty Thrash: Single target damage.
Material Fend: Evasion boost.

Carousel is a bothersome attack as healing your damage dealers often requires Curaga, which can shift hate in unpleasant ways. Promyvion Brume is an AoE poison effect. Utsusemi can't block the AoE Poison effect from Promyvion Brume. This is an incredibly nasty skill to face.
Make sure you bring Antidote potions to self-cure poison; your healer will not have time to give Poisona to people. The hate-reset also makes doing so a dangerous proposition. This boss is incredibly hard to fight if it's allowed to spam its skills. Alternate to Antidote you can bring Poison Potions with you. The 1HP/Tick will protect you from the strong Poison AoE of the Delver. It also prevents the tank to die from the strong Poison of the Delver after an Impalement.

If you are using curaga during a major fight like this I personally would poke the whm in the eye.. They should stay focused healing the main tank and giving lesser cures to the DD.
I've always used the poison potions on this one as well. A weak poison is WAY better to manage then the Promyvion Brume attack. This boss the Anima are most important I feel. It is better that they do not get off their special attacks at all.


I have done these a few times. I would suggest mages bring terroanima. Their is the chance that the mob will run at you. With Terroanima you can make it flee away in fear. Melee should bring all the anima. Mages should be out of range of using the anima if this is fought well.

I found this guide on promy's. They do a different party setup then what I have seen used, but still have alot of very good information.
