June 2008 Update?

Has anyone heard what lvl this job ability is planned for?

It is supposed to be a job ability that restricts your attacks to kick attacks. It also causes a penalty to attack delay. The monk also receives an increase to damage and attack power, as well as a bonus to the amount of TP gained per kick.


Some people believe this will make monk counter attacks more since they will have hands free for defense. And others are saying it will reduce a mobs TP gain from your attacks. Any idea's? I really haven't played my mnk enough.

I wanted to get some discussion going on this subject.

I dont think it will increase counters, but definitely blocks. But the latent abilities for mnk would still be in affect, right? So the mob shouldnt get more tp than with hand attacks imo.

I have thought about this alot lastely since I have been leveling my MNK alot more lately. I this new ability could increase guard % not counter since counterstance does that. I actually brought this subject up in LS. And someone said that counterstance is mnk's defensive stance. The more I thought about it the more I kept thinking ~ How can it be considered defensive when it lowers your defense severely? Seriously.. from over 200 defense to less then 50 with Counterstance active. Just because you counter more it's defense? Counter is not really defensive. It's like grabbing someone's fist as they go to punch you and make it hit them in the face instead. Where as a Guard actually deflects the hit's damage like a shield.
Yeah the mob should still gain less tp because of mnk's multiple Martial Arts job traits.
